
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is the perfect recipe for when you have bananas hanging around that are on the fast track to Trashville.
I always use three bananas, no matter what the size. This recipe is so simple to make and is always a hit. I omit the nuts due to my food allergies.

Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (3 small)
1/2 cup unsalted butter or shortening, softened (The Jersey Girl uses butter)
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (The Jersey Girl omits the nuts)
Directions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixer bowl, combine all of the ingredients except for the mini chocolate chips and walnuts. Blend well on medium speed of electric mixer.


- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts with a spatula or wooden spoon.


- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 60 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.


- Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
